Privacy Policy

• Email address. When you subscribe to the newsletter or unlock gated content (the map, guides, or product database), we store your email address and which form or page it came from.
• Account information. If you create an account with email, Google, or Apple sign-in, we receive your email address and a user ID from that provider. We never receive your password.
• Saved items. Locations and products you bookmark, linked to your account.
• Submissions and messages. Anything you send through the contact form, “submit a spot,” or “submit a product,” including your name, email, and message.
• Approximate location. Only when you tap “Near me.” Your device provides coordinates that are used in your browser or app to sort and filter nearby spots. We do not store your location on our servers or track you in the background.
• Push notification token. If you allow notifications in the app, we store the device token needed to deliver them.
• Usage analytics. Pageviews and simple product events (for example, opening a location, clicking a discount link) recorded with a randomly generated visitor ID stored in your browser, plus basic technical data such as approximate device type and referring page.

• Deliver the content and features you request, including gated guides and the map.
• Send the newsletter and occasional promotional emails you signed up for.
• Operate your account and keep your saved items in sync across devices.
• Respond to your messages and review the spots and products you submit.
• Send push notifications you have opted into.
• Understand which pages and features are useful so we can improve the Service.
• Protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and technical problems, and comply with law.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: consent for the newsletter, push notifications, and location access (you may withdraw it at any time); performance of a contract to operate your account and saved items; and legitimate interests to keep the Service secure, measure basic usage, and respond to your messages. Where required, we also rely on consent for non-essential analytics.

We use a small number of first-party storage items rather than advertising cookies. These include a session token when you sign in, a flag recording that you unlocked gated content, and a randomly generated visitor ID used to group analytics events. We do not run third-party advertising trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for healthwithhunter.com (or by deleting and reinstalling the app). Doing so signs you out and resets your visitor ID. Most browsers also let you send a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor as an opt-out request.

We send the newsletter only with your consent — the checkbox on the sign-up form, the prompt when you download a guide, or one of the newsletter forms on the site. Each of those is an active choice; nothing is pre-ticked, and no download or feature depends on saying yes.

When you consent we record the date and time, where you consented, and the exact wording you were shown, so we can always demonstrate what you agreed to.

You can withdraw consent at any time: the unsubscribe link in every email, the unsubscribe page, the email preferences switch on your account page, or by emailing contact@healthwithhunter.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect your account or anything else you use.

After you unsubscribe we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not email you again by mistake.

Some links on the Service are affiliate links (Amazon Associates, ShopMy, and similar networks). When you click one, the merchant or network may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit and purchase in order to attribute a commission. That activity is governed by the merchant’s privacy policy, not this one. We receive only aggregate commission reporting — never your payment details.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract:

• hosting, database, and authentication infrastructure;
• email delivery for the newsletter and account emails;
• map tile hosting and address geocoding for the map;
• push notification delivery through Apple and Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or in connection with a business transfer, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

We keep newsletter emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; account data and saved items until you delete your account; submissions and contact messages for as long as needed to review and respond, and for a reasonable record afterward; and analytics events in aggregate form. Push tokens are removed when notifications are disabled or the token becomes invalid.

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in access-controlled managed infrastructure with row-level security rules restricting access to your own records. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to address issues promptly.

Everyone. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, revoke location or notification permissions in your device settings, delete your account in the app, or email us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information.

California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request correction or deletion, and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

EEA and UK. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

To exercise any right, email contact@healthwithhunter.com. We respond within the time required by applicable law, and may need to verify your identity by confirming control of the email address on file.

We are based in the United States and our service providers process data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred there. Where required, transfers from the EEA and UK rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum.

• Location: requested only when you use “Near me,” used on-device, never collected in the background, and revocable in device settings.
• Push notifications: optional; disable them in device settings or in the app at any time and the stored token is no longer used.
• Account deletion: available in the app from your account screen, or by emailing us — this removes your account, saved items, and push tokens.
• No third-party ad SDKs are embedded in the app, and we do not use the device advertising identifier or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information to us, email us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The “Last updated” date above will change, and material changes will be highlighted on this page or announced by email.
