My story
How I lost 50 pounds
& kept it off.
Hi! I'm Hunter Stoler — a certified nutrition and health coach and the person behind Health With Hunter. I lost about 50 pounds in college and have maintained it for more than six years, and everything on this site comes from what I learned doing it.
I am a firm believer that HEALTH IS YOUR WEALTH, which is why I'm so passionate about helping people build healthy habits without giving up the lifestyle they enjoy.

The full story
This is my personal experience — not medical advice or a plan everyone should follow.
01
Where I started
My own health and weight loss transformation happened in college. I lost roughly 50 pounds — not through a crash diet, but by slowly changing how I ate day to day.
02
What I learned
The biggest lesson was that sustainable health isn't extreme restriction. Once I stopped treating food as all-or-nothing, everything else got easier: portions, energy, and staying consistent.
03
Getting curious about food
I became obsessed with understanding what I was actually buying — ingredient lists, grocery products, better versions of the things I already loved, and simple swaps that didn't feel like sacrifices.
04
Maintaining it
I've kept the weight off for more than six years. Maintenance looks like routines I actually enjoy — and still eating at the restaurants and buying the foods I love.
05
Becoming a coach
I graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in May 2022 with a B.S. in Information Science, then became a certified nutrition and health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Why Health With Hunter exists
I built Health With Hunter to make this less overwhelming for everyone else: the products worth buying, the guides, the discounts, and the places I eat in New York, all in one place.
My philosophy
Healthy living should fit into real life.
No all-or-nothing
One off-plan meal isn't a failed week. The goal is a way of eating you can come back to easily.
Small swaps add up
Trading a few everyday staples for better versions changes more than any short-term diet.
Ingredients matter
Reading the label is the single most useful skill I picked up. It's why the product database exists.
Protein and fiber first
Building meals around protein and fiber is what made portions feel manageable for me.
Food should still taste good
If you don't like what you're eating, you won't keep eating it. Healthy has to be enjoyable.
Consistency over perfection
Six years of maintenance came from repeatable routines, not from being strict every single day.

Start with what I actually use
Everything I recommend lives in one of these four places.
